Hi, I’m Sara

I’m an accredited EMDR Therapist and BACP Registered Counsellor with over twenty-five years of experience helping people work through emotional and psychological difficulties. My background spans psychology, counselling and mental health social work, giving me a uniquely comprehensive understanding of what it takes to heal from trauma and relationship breakdown.

My approach is integrative and holistic. I recognise that true healing involves the whole person - understanding the mind-body connection is essential to my work, and I believe that emotional wellbeing cannot be separated from physical experience. I draw from years of training and experience to find the best way to support you, whether that's through EMDR for trauma processing, Internal Family Systems, person-centred counselling, or creative techniques including art and visualisation. I believe in meeting you where you are and tailoring my approach to what you need most.

Throughout my career, I have helped hundreds of people move forward to happier, more fulfilling lives. I’m committed to my own ongoing development and regularly update my skills and knowledge, to ensure I can offer the most effective support possible.

I hold a BSc (Hons) in Psychology, an MA in Social Work and a BSc (Hons) in Ayurveda. I’m also a registered Counsellor (MBACP), an accredited EMDR Therapist and I adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.

I currently run both this private practice and Love Therapy Retreats - a transformative retreat programme I co-founded with my wonderful colleague Laila Hamade. (Read more below.)

"I wanted to say thank you for your time, understanding and empathy, which allowed me to be vulnerable and to build myself back up from that place."

Sara Ward and Laila Hamade are qualified and registered BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) therapists who have joined forces to create something truly special: therapeutic retreats that offer women the chance to heal, grow and rediscover themselves in a supportive, nurturing environment.

Our therapy retreats, courses and workbooks combine evidence-based therapeutic approaches with supportive, restorative experiences - all accessible from the comfort of your own home.

This is more than a wellness experience.

As qualified psychotherapists, we offer real therapeutic work. You'll leave not just feeling better in the moment, but with practical tools, deeper self-awareness and a concrete plan to continue your journey forward.

The programme is structured to fit around your life, giving you the flexibility to engage with the materials at your own pace while still receiving expert guidance and community support.
